Let me have some coffee! And without realising it’s your 5th today already, loaded with sugar..

It’s been a long day! I’m tired and stressed after work, let me have some chocolate..

Or perhaps some ice cream, beer, pizza, cheese, chips, burger, glass of wine..

And again, before you know it all the food’s gone to your stomach.

Worse yet, the month is gone as well and you barely did any exercise…

Or at least not as much as you wanted to or should have..

Autopilot And Stereotypes

It’s funny how we humans tend to work…

Our habits can be ridiculously difficult to break.

Especially when we’re busy…

Once we’re soft wired to do certain things during the day without thinking about them…

We stop thinking about their consequences as well…

And so it goes with food and exercise…

Getting out of shape doesn’t take effort.

It all happens on autopilot..

Getting in shape though takes effort, and a lot of it…

Not only physical, but first of all psychological…

Turning Mindlessness Into Mindfulness

What got you out of shape is not going to get you in shape.

And it’s all these things you’ve been mindless about…

Sugar in coffee from your favourite coffee shop..

Calorie content of each pint you drink..

Generous amounts of mayo in your coleslaw..

And the list goes on..

So what’s important when you’re serious about getting in shape..

Is to obviously first decide that you’re committed to your outcomes..

And then start being mindful about all the things that have got you in trouble…

Of course, it’s important to know what things to avoid..

But it starts with you simply increasing your awareness

The Value Of Time

Mindlessness about fitness and health is real..

How many times have you caught yourself finishing your work day not even knowing where the day’s gone?..

Completely immersed in work a lot of times on autopilot…

Struggling to keep your time in check..

It’s easy to lose track of things if you’re immersed in something…

And so is to get out of shape.

So if you want to finally get in shape you’ll have to get mindful…

Otherwise the next 10 years will go by and you’ll realise nothing hasn’t changed for you…

You’re in an even worse shape than before…

And now that you’re 10 years older…

It’s not about wanting to be in shape anymore…

But about needing to do something as it’s now affecting your health…
