Your classic afternoon slump comes in most cases quite suddenly..

You’re sitting at the desk…

Reading some data on your screen…

Trying to digest any valuable piece of information there is…

And your eyes will start to slowly close..

Opening your mind to a 10 minute vacuum…

The question really is how long do you want to tolerate it for?

It’s Obviously Got Something To Do With Your Food

Most people I work with have heard my 60 second chart explanation..

Here’s your time line…

Here are your sugar levels…

And here’s your zone…

Whenever you skyrocket up from the zone….

You will equally quickly be pulled down under…

To simply reset your blood sugar level…

It’s a protective defence mechanism…

And it exists to let you know…

That fully loaded plate of white pasta with cheese, some dessert and a soft drink..

Were not meant for you by nature…

As simple as that…

Paying The Price For Quick Fixes

Now obviously if you like low nutrient high sugar food…

You could still avoid your afternoon mini nap

By drinking more coffee, taking aderol or going for a swift walk…

After all, if you can figure out a way to trick your body…

Switch your defence mechanism off…

And stay alert…

Then surely everything’s OK…

But unfortunately it’s not…

Because even if you manage to stay awake and fully alert…

The same food that would normally give you your afternoon slump…

Will little by little get you out of shape…

Cause you mood swings…

And also cause you a host of other things…

That will not be the greatest for you on your way to excelling around The City

So Here’s Your Solution

Make sure there is some protein in your lunch…

The protein will slow down the energy release a bit..

And will help you keep your blood sugar level under control…

If you normally eat chocolate, doughnuts or drink sugary coffee…

Have them another time…

It’s all about blood sugar control..

And knowing where the limits are..

And how your body reacts to what you eat and drink..
