So let's borrow from the enormous study of psychology and human behaviour. We know that the lack of discipline and self control is just a symptom of lack of value perceived. Here's what I mean: You will get up every morning at the time you need and get to work on time to start the day, every day with great amount of discipline. Why? Because on the other side of it is your financial future and your status. So you have a strong reason to do it. If your life depended on something, the value would be the highest and you would do everything in your power to do it, right? What about the other side. Now you go on holidays, spend your evening with a drink, don't get at at 0700am anymore. Why? The value of it has changed, right? Now you value fun and sleeping in a bit more because it's got no impact on your financial future and status... Now you haven't got the discipline to get up anymore. What's changed? Is it your discipline or is it your value perception? The latter. Discipline and self control are just a symptom. If you see value, you do it, if you don't you might try, but you'll struggle. You can fight it for a bit, but if you're fighting with symptoms without addressing the underlying issue, the symptoms will always come back. What's a smarter thing to do is to focus on the underlying issue. It's kind of like this:

I love summer barbeques and I live around The City. Every summer when there's a sunny weekend you'll see a lot of people doing barbeque in certain parks where permitted. I know you might say: "Hah! I do barbeque in my own garden..." Just bear with me you lucky bastard.) People who live in flats don't have a garden so they barbeque in the park.

Now most people come with a pack of chicken, burger meet and sausages to their barbeque party, maybe some veg or halloumi.

They bring the disposable grill with them, set up a little fire, grill some chicken and then the fires goes off and the heat starts disappearing yet there's so much uncooked food, now what can you do?!

You can either wrap it up and stay hungry... You can add more coal and wood... Or you can use another grill, perhaps someone else's, you just need to make sure they're not some weirdos, they won't beat you up or they're not die hard vegans...

So really, there are 3 options - first one you do nothing, point at the lack of heat and stay hungry, two you get more coal and keep the heat high up which will allow you to finish your food or three use another source of heat to finish cooking and eating your food and laugh...

Now heat is like discipline and self control, wood/coal is like your value perception/perceived value and other source of heath is another one of your core values...

Trying to add heat out of thin air doesn't work, you need coal or another source of heat with coal in it! part of my job is to help you source the coal or point you to other sources of heat... You just need to cook and enjoy your BBQ Lunch!

At the moment you just need to focus on your hunger and the fact that you need to sort it out...

So let's borrow from the enormous study of psychology and human behaviour. We know that the lack of discipline and self control is just a symptom of lack of value perceived. Here's what I mean: You will get up every morning at the time you need and get to work on time to start the day, every day with great amount of discipline. Why? Because on the other side of it is your financial future and your status. So you have a strong reason to do it. If your life depended on something, the value would be the highest and you would do everything in your power to do it, right? What about the other side. Now you go on holidays, spend your evening with a drink, don't get at at 0700am anymore. Why? The value of it has changed, right? Now you value fun and sleeping in a bit more because it's got no impact on your financial future and status... Now you haven't got the discipline to get up anymore. What's changed? Is it your discipline or is it your value perception? The latter. Discipline and self control are just a symptom. If you see value, you do it, if you don't you might try, but you'll struggle. You can fight it for a bit, but if you're fighting with symptoms without addressing the underlying issue, the symptoms will always come back. What's a smarter thing to do is to focus on the underlying issue. It's kind of like this:

I love summer barbeques and I live around The City. Every summer when there's a sunny weekend you'll see a lot of people doing barbeque in certain parks where permitted. I know you might say: "Hah! I do barbeque in my own garden..." Just bear with me you lucky bastard.) People who live in flats don't have a garden so they barbeque in the park.

Now most people come with a pack of chicken, burger meet and sausages to their barbeque party, maybe some veg or halloumi. They bring the disposable grill with them, set up a little fire, grill some chicken and then the fires goes off and the heat starts disappearing yet there's so much uncooked food, now what can you do?!

You can either wrap it up and stay hungry... You can add more coal and wood... Or you can use another grill, perhaps someone else's, you just need to make sure they're not some weirdos, they won't beat you up or they're not die hard vegans...

So really, there are 3 options - first one you do nothing, point at the lack of heat and stay hungry, two you get more coal and keep the heat high up which will allow you to finish your food or three use another source of heat to finish cooking and eating your food and laugh...

Now heat is like discipline and self control, wood/coal is like your value perception/perceived value and other source of heath is another one of your core values...

Trying to add heat out of thin air doesn't work, you need coal or another source of heat with coal in it! part of my job is to help you source the coal or point you to other sources of heat... You just need to cook and enjoy your BBQ Lunch!
